      1. I hope you will like it Sian. The recipe is very old. I will update it in few weeks with new photos etc. But I can tell you I cook with basa all the time. It is one of my favorite fish. The other thing what I do with basa is I dip in egg, then bread crumbs and I fry on the pan with oil. We love it.

    1. I tried Basa last week and looking for another recipe and found yours, ill try it today. Thank you for inspiring.

    2. Ilona, it looks awesome! So much flavors packed on this recipe that makes this simply irresistible, definitely having this on my table!

    3. Did anyone post they tried it and outcome? I will do so now. I am making it tonight or am I? Please post if you have actually made it following the recipe to the tee. My pet peeve. I too thank you for sharing but usually only post if I actually made it as shared then tweak it after making it the way it is written.

Hello again….just made it. Both my husband and I enjoyed it just as written with the exception of using salted butter then leaving out the salt. I don’t particularly like Basa or tilapia as I find the texture far from firm. However, we would make this again with mild flavoured fish….without tweaking it, Hope this helps your readers. Thank you Ilona!

Hello there! If I don’t have Basa, can I use Barramundi instead? Very simple and easy recipe, by the way!

      1. I actually didn’t know anything about Barramundi, but my guess is it will be good too. The recipe is very simple so no special preparation or cooking, just make marinate and bake the fish. I hope you’ll like it!

My husband isn’t a fan of Basa but loved this! I used frozen, thawed fillets and cooked for longer than 30 mins but it still came out quite moist – I was worried that I under cooked it actually, but it was super tender. I will probably broil a bit near the end next time to give more of a crust.

This recipe also has a bit of a spicy kick to it.

Reheats in the microwave nicely for the next day.

I have used this recipe twice and I love it! It is my go to recipe when I’m cooking basa! I let mine marinade longer than the recipe required! Much FAVOR!

Great recipe! Delicious and easy. Basa has been very cheap in my area lately, so we are eating a lot of it. I didn’t have dried basil, so I used dried dill in the marinade, and garnished with fresh dill and lemon slices.

This is my 2nd time making this- it is a fabulous recipe! So easy. So tasty. Have served it with rosemary fries and a tangy slaw.
