  2. Seperate egg whites from egg yolks.
  3. Beat egg whites, set aside.
  4. Beat egg yolks with sugar and vanilla extract.
  5. Add flour to egg yolks and mix.
  6. Fold in beaten egg whites.
  7. Cook batter on waffle iron.

  1. Beat whipping cream and powdered sugar with electric mixer.

Ingredients

Belgian Waffles

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 6 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • 6 figs cut into quarters

Instructions

Belgian Waffles

  • In a large bowl combine flour and baking powder. Set aside.
    2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp. baking powder
  • Seperate egg whites from egg yolks.
    2 eggs
  • In a large bowl beat egg whites with electric mixer until stiff peak, set aside.
  • Beat egg yolks with sugar and vanilla extract until fluffy.
    6 tsp. granulated sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • Add milk and vegetable oil to egg yolks. Mix with electric mixer.
    2 cups milk, 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • Add dry ingredients (flour and baking powder) to egg yolks, mix with mixer just to combine.
  • Fold in with spatula or spoon beaten egg whites.
  • Heat waffle iron, spray with cooking spray.
  • Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook for few minutes.
  • Remove from waffle iron, set aside.

Whipped Cream

  • In a large bowl beat whipped cream with powdered sugar until soft peak, and not anymore runny.
    1 cup heavy whipping cream, 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
  • Top cooked waffles with whipped cream and fresh figs.
    6 figs
