A great way to start a day with refreshing sweet mango lassi made with greek yogurt, milk, turmeric and cardamom. This healthy mango smoothie drink requires only 5 minutes to make.

Mango lassi is a refreshing and delicious drink that originated in the Indian subcontinent. It’s a traditional yogurt-based beverage made with fresh mango, yogurt, sugar or honey, and sometimes cardamom. Mango lassi is not only a perfect summer thirst-quencher but also serves as an excellent source of essential nutrients. This sweet and tangy drink has become increasingly popular worldwide for its creamy texture and tropical flavor. There are some varieties of lassi, for instance salted or sweetened. Namkeen is prepared with yogurt and salt. Sweet lassi drink is made with sugar or fruit juices. Mango lassi drink is made with yogurt, pulp of mango and milk.

Honey, mango, cardamom, turmeric, milk, greek yogurt.
  • Mango – use fresh, ripe mango pulp for this recipe. You can use frozen mango too.
  • Yogurt – for tangy flavor (greek yogurt, plain etc.)
  • Milk – will give nice consistency to the drink.
  • Honey – to sweeten the drink.
  • Turmeric – for flavor and extra color.
  • Cardamom – it is optional for extra flavor.

How to make Mango Lassi Drink

  1. (Full recipe and video below). Cut mango into cubes, add to the blender.
  2. Add the rest of ingredients and blend.

Mango Lassi Drink Tips

  • To make the best drink you need very ripe mango which is very sweet and soft. Also, you can use fresh fruit or frozen.
  • The honey is optional, if you want more sweetened drink, add some honey.
  • Cardamom is also optional, it is for your own preferences.
  • Instead of milk, you can use water.
  • Make sure to use powerful blender to mix all ingredients nicely. I used my ninja blender.

How long does mango lassi last?

The best it taste freshly made but you can keep the drink refrigerated for up to 3 – 4 days.

How do you know when a mango is ripe?

You can check if mango is ripe by squeezing. A ripe mango will be soft to touch.

Can I use sugar instead of honey?

Yes, just add sugar if you prefer.

Is mango lassi vegan?

No it is not vegan, since it contains milk, honey and greek yogurt, but it is vegetarian.

Ingredients

  • 1 mango ripe, large
  • 3/4 cup yogurt plain or Greek Yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp. honey optional
  • 1/8 tsp. turmeric
  • 1/8 tsp. cardamom optional

Instructions

  • Peel and dice the mango.
    1 mango
  • In a blender combine: diced mango, greek yogurt, milk, honey, turmeric and cardamom. Blend all ingredients together.
    3/4 cup yogurt, 1/2 cup milk, 1 tsp. honey, 1/8 tsp. turmeric, 1/8 tsp. cardamom
