Dairy Free French Toast Tips

  • When it comes to making the perfect French toast, there are a few key steps to keep in mind. One of the most important aspects is ensuring that each side of the Challah bread is dipped into the mixture completely. This allows for an even distribution of the delicious flavors and ensures a golden, crispy texture when fried.
  • It’s best to fry a few slices of the bread in batches, depending on the size of your frying pan. You want to make sure there is enough space for the slices to cook evenly without overcrowding the pan. If needed, feel free to add more butter to the pan for frying, as it adds a rich and luscious flavor to the French toast.
  • Once the Challah bread slices have achieved a beautiful golden-brown color and a slightly crispy exterior, it’s time to remove them from the pan. You can use a spatula or tongs to carefully transfer the French toast to a serving plate.

No Milk French Toast FAQ’s

What can I substitute with milk?

You can use any plant based milk or a little bit of water, but I don’t really recommend water since the taste might be different. The other option is to just omit milk, only use eggs, sugar and vanilla extract, it will work perfectly. However, keep in mind that you will need more eggs for 8 slices of challah bread.

What can you put on french toast if you don’t have syrup?

You can add some honey, any jam or sprinkle with powdered or regular sugar.

How long should you soak French toast?

Simply just dip each piece of the bread, so it is covered with batter completely, then flip on other side. If you soak longer the bread will soak the batter making the toast more fluffy, but you won’t have enough dipping mixture for other slices. Approximately 10 to 15 seconds is enough to dip each side of bread.
