Healthy Chia smoothie made with banana, dates, yogurt and strawberries.

Healthy Strawberry Chia Smoothie by ilonaspassion.com

Totally sweet chia smoothie made with healthy ingredients. It was my first time I’ve had chia. I know I’m late, internet has already many cool recipes including chia seeds. However, I will tell you why.

Chia doesn’t look “nice” after “expanding”. I mean when chia spends some time in liquid it changes shape. Maybe you love the look but for me it doesn’t look tasty–> just big balls I see:) However, when the chia is dry it looks perfect for me. Also, I was more than happy to blend the “big balls” in this recipe that eating by itself.

The taste of chia is very good, I love it. I tasted and I said wow it’s good. I was glad that I made it. It’s just the look that it doesn’t look appealing for me. I have same feeling about quinoa. I love the look of dry quinoa, but I don’t like the shape when it’s cooked. However, it tastes amazing to me.

Let’s get back to the taste of this chia smoothie. It is so sweet because of the natural sweetness like banana and dates. It is packed with strawberries and yogurt –> any kind is good. I just used strawberry one, but vanilla will be perfect too. Have you ever tried chia seeds before?

This smoothie looks yummy! I put chia seeds in my smoothies a lot but I never thought to let them soaked first. I am going to have to try that.

Chia seeds are okay. I can do them in small amounts and when they are still hard and not mushy, like in your strawberry smoothie. YUM.

I was implying your smoothie they were still hard, so therefore yummy, I realize that could be taken the wrong way! ;-D

I love how chia seeds look once they expand, so cool looking like a weird rice pudding or something. I love trying new textures too.
