- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 Tbsp. granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
- 8 slices challah bread
- 1/2 cup grapes
- 1 mango diced
In a large bowl, whisk eggs.
3 eggs
Add coconut milk, sugar and vanilla extract.
1/2 cup coconut milk, 1/2 Tbsp. granulated sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Preheat large frying pan. Add 2 tablespoons of butter.
4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
Dip each slice of challah bread into the egg mixture. Flip and dip the other side of challah bread.
8 slices challah bread
Put on the frying pan and cook for about 2-5 minutes on each side on low-medium heat.
You will not fit 8 slices on the frying pan. Cook about 2 - 4 pieces at once. For the next batches of frying add remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Cook again for 2-5 minutes on each side.
Add grapes and diced mango on top.
1/2 cup grapes, 1 mango
- When it comes to making the perfect French toast, there are a few key steps to keep in mind. One of the most important aspects is ensuring that each side of the Challah bread is dipped into the mixture completely. This allows for an even distribution of the delicious flavors and ensures a golden, crispy texture when fried.
- It's best to fry a few slices of the bread in batches, depending on the size of your frying pan. You want to make sure there is enough space for the slices to cook evenly without overcrowding the pan. If needed, feel free to add more butter to the pan for frying, as it adds a rich and luscious flavor to the French toast.
- Once the Challah bread slices have achieved a beautiful golden-brown color and a slightly crispy exterior, it's time to remove them from the pan. You can use a spatula or tongs to carefully transfer the French toast to a serving plate.
- Drizzle with honey, sprinkle with powdered sugar or top it with jam.
