Notes

  • Basa Fish - white fish. Other white fish can be used for this recipe, for example: tilapia, cod, haddock. Just remember the baking time may vary.
  • Unsalted Butter - salted butter can be substituted but use less salt in the recipe.
  • Dried Basil - fresh basil can be used as well.
    • Lemon Slices - to place on fish before baking. Lime can be used instead of lemon.
    • Marinate the fish for about 20 minutes. I used silicone cooking brush to spread marinate nicely.
    • Also, I used my favorite freeze dried basil for the marinate, but you can use fresh if you have it, this will enhance the flavor.
    • It is the best to put fish on parchment paper to prevent it from sticking to the pan.
    • Meal Prep Tips: The cooked fish can be stored in glass or plastic container in the fridge.
    • What to serve with basa fish? You can serve it with homemade mashed potatoes, kale salad and baked zucchini fries. These fish fillets will taste great with any grains like quinoa, barley or buckwheat, sweet potato or carrot fries will pair nicely also.
