Mushroom Sandwich

Mushroom Sandwich by ilonaspassion.com
If you are a mushroom lover you will like these small sandwiches. They are perfect for appetizer or for feeding the crowd:) I grew up eating them all the time and I love them. I still can eat them very often. The sandwich does not have any meat, so it is more like vegetarian version. Sometimes, I really enjoy food without meat.  I do not have to eat meat in my every meal. Ketchup can be also used for this mushroom sandwich.

Ingredients

  • 1 french bread baguette
  • 8 oz. mozzarella cheese brick
  • 32. oz mushrooms
  • 1 teaspoon butter
  • salt/pepper
  • ketchup

Instructions

  • Wash/clean and shred mushrooms. Melt butter in the frying pan and add mushrooms. Season it however you would like (salt, pepper or seasoning). Cook for about 5 - 7 minutes on medium heat. Cut french bread into small slices (about 1/2 inch). Put mushrooms nicely on each slice of the bread. Do not scoop the water from the mushrooms. Shred mozzarella cheese and put on top of the mushrooms. Bake in 350 F. for about 7 minutes, so the bread will be crusty and the cheese will melt. Serve straight from the oven with ketchup or without is good too.
