Oatmeal Cobbler in a Mug in 3 Easy Ways
Oatmeal cobbler in 3 easy ways! In three different flavors: black forest, apple cinnamon and berry. Great for breakfast, brunch or dessert!

How are you doing before holidays? Are you busy shopping, creating menu or simply cleaning? I did almost all my Christmas shopping and I am surprised that I am almost done. I’ve decided to do it earlier this year. I am always organized and I plan my schedule ahead. For the last minute I will leave my cooking and baking for Christmas. We have a home tradition to bake and decorate cookies. However, I didn’t have that tradition when I was growing up, I just made it up at my home. My younger son is already asking when are we going to bake cookies.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you about my oatmeal cobbler today which I am so happy how delicious it is. I love oats and I incorporate them in many desserts or breakfasts. Couple weeks ago I came up with idea of creating an oatmeal cobbler in a mug but with different flavors. In my opinion everyone of us has a different taste. If I love banana it doesn’t mean that banana is your favorite fruit. So by thinking what my family will like I decided to bake three different flavors of oatmeal cobbler: cinnamon apple pear, berry and black forest with chocolate.
My children chose black forest oatmeal cobbler after hearing there is chocolate. They love cherries so the dessert was perfect for them. I made berry for my younger son because I figure it out he likes any kind of berries so he’ll love it.
For these recipes I baked my oatmeal cobblers in mugs that I got from CorningWare. I was happy that each mug will be individual with different flavors. It was so easy and convenient to prepare all 3 oatmeal cobblers separately. By baking these 3 oatmeal cobblers in the oven the top layer was crispy and delicious. These mugs are made with durable stoneware material and they are safe to use it in microwave, oven, freezer or dishwasher. One thing I need to mention is that mugs need to be placed into the pre-heated oven. Don’t put your mugs when the oven is still cold.
The oatmeal cobbler was so satisfying and I wanted to save some for the next day. Therefore, it was so convenient for me because the mugs come with BPA-free and ventilated lid. Although, lids are not suitable for oven, but I warmed up my oatmeal cobbler in the microwave. The lid helped to release the steam. I am also happy with the fact that mugs do not absorb any odors or stains which means I can use it for desserts and savory or spicy dishes as well.
These mugs can be found in many stores across Canada like Walmart, Loblaws, Home Outfitters, London Drug or online at Amazon and Shop World Kitchen that ships to Canada.
All three oatmeal cobblers had almost the same top layer. The first one was prepared with fresh apple, pear, cinnamon, walnuts and a little lemon juice. The second berry cobbler was made with frozen strawberries and wild berries. The regular blueberries can be used also, however I found wild blueberries here in Canada and I wanted to use them. I was raised eating lots of wild blueberries. This is my childhood memory. The last oatmeal cobbler was made with frozen cherries, a little orange juice and chopped dark chocolate. All three were delicious and I will be making them often!
