Meal Type: gift idea, dessert, breakfast, after school snack.

Oreo Balls Ingredients

Oreo cookies, chocolate chips, coconut oil, sprinkles.
  • Oreo Cookies – traditional oreo cookies, they will add sweetness to truffles.
  • Cream Cheese – original or light.
  • Chocolate Chips – dark chocolate, milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • Oil (optional) – use it only if melted chocolate is thick and don’t spread well. I recommend using coconut oil.

No Bake Oreo Cream Cheese Balls Tips

  • It is the best to keep cream cheese for about 1 hour on the counter top before making the truffles. The cream cheese will be softer and it will combine perfectly with cookies.
  • Crush Oreo’s in food processor. It will take you only few seconds. However, if you don’t own food processor place cookies into a ziploc bag and crush it with a wooden spoon, meat tenderizer, dough roller etc.
  • Melt chocolate in microwave for few seconds or use double boiler method. Place chocolate in a bowl, after that put the bowl into the pot filled with water. Boil the water on the stove and mix chocolate often with a spoon until it melts.
  • Add oil to the chocolate if it is too thick. 1/4 teaspoon should be enough.
  • Make sure to freeze oreo cream cheese balls before dipping them into the chocolate.
  • For gift giving you can place them in a jar and decorate with a ribbon. Paper box or clear plastic bag will be great too!

Do oreo truffles have to be refrigerated?

Yes, since they contain cream cheese, they need to be stored in the refrigerator.

How long can Oreo balls stay in fridge?

These balls can be stored in the fridge up to 1 month but keep in mind the expiration day of cream cheese. They should be perfect until the expiration day of the cream cheese.

How far in advance can I make dipped Oreos?

You can make them few days ahead.

How do you package chocolate covered Oreos?

Keep oreo cream cheese balls in airtight container with lid. Even jar is perfect too.

Why are my oreo balls falling apart?

It seems like there is no proper ratio of cream cheese and crushed cookies, try adding more cream cheese to form a solid cookie ball.
