How to Arrange a Cheese Platter
- First of all think how many guests will you have. This will help you to decide how many fruits, nuts and pretzels you need.
- Decide if there will be any other foods available. You can certainly make a small tray and serve it as appetizer just before the meal.
- Pick about 2-3 different types of cheeses. Provide separate knifes for each cheese.
- Pick about 3 types of seasonal fruits. Cut or slice them into smaller pieces, every guest can easily grab a piece of fruit.
- Pick few types of nuts, pretzels or crackers etc.
- Try to make it interesting with different variety of products.

How to make a Fruit and Cheese Platter
- Firstly, gather all autumn products: fruits and nuts.
- I used variety of nuts like peanuts, cashews and walnuts.
- I also placed two types of cheeses: Smoked Gouda and Anco Gouda Spiced.
- From fruits I used seasonal apples, pears and plums.
- Spread some honey all over the fruits.
- In the end, add some black olives.

Fall Platter Tips
- You don’t need to pick up the same type of cheese that I have. I know some cheeses might be harder to find in different regions. Anyway, buy any cheese that you prefer.
- To make the fall platter just pick all seasonal fruits or nuts. You would like to make an Autumn theme board. For instance, I placed walnuts on my cheese platter because they are harvested from early September to early November. I also picked plums that are not available all year long. This type of plums are European and you can find them mainly in European stores. However, regular plums can be used.
- Honey is optional for fruits. But it adds extra sweetness.

Fruit Platter Faq’s
Particularly, I will definitely choose seasonal fruits, for example for fall I will buy mostly plums, apples and pears. For summer season pick berries. Winter board will have pomegranates, oranges and persimmons. While, spring board will look great with kiwis, cherries and morels.
A cheese platter, also known as a cheese board or charcuterie board, is a delightful assortment of cheeses, fruits, nuts, and accompaniments designed to create a balanced and visually appealing spread. Here’s what you can put on a cheese platter: Fruits, nuts, any kind of soft/hard cheese, crackers, dips etc.
Offer a variety of cheeses to cater to different tastes and textures. A typical selection might include: hard or semi-hard cheese (Cheddar, Smoked Gouda, Mozzarella, Gruyere), soft cheese (Brie, Camembert)
You can slice, cut into fourths or half, cut into wedges, dice into cubes.
I don’t recommend making a tray the day before, some fruits might become brownish, pretzels and crackers might become dry if not covered.
