Belgian Waffles with Whipped Cream
Ingredients
Belgian Waffles
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 eggs
- 6 tsp. granulated sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 2 cups milk
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
Whipped Cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
- 6 figs cut into quarters
Instructions
Belgian Waffles
- In a large bowl combine flour and baking powder. Set aside.2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 tsp. baking powder
- Seperate egg whites from egg yolks.2 eggs
- In a large bowl beat egg whites with electric mixer until stiff peak, set aside.
- Beat egg yolks with sugar and vanilla extract until fluffy.6 tsp. granulated sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- Add milk and vegetable oil to egg yolks. Mix with electric mixer.2 cups milk, 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- Add dry ingredients (flour and baking powder) to egg yolks, mix with mixer just to combine.
- Fold in with spatula or spoon beaten egg whites.
- Heat waffle iron, spray with cooking spray.
- Pour the batter into the waffle iron and cook for few minutes.
- Remove from waffle iron, set aside.
Whipped Cream
- In a large bowl beat whipped cream with powdered sugar until soft peak, and not anymore runny.1 cup heavy whipping cream, 2 Tbsp. powdered sugar
- Top cooked waffles with whipped cream and fresh figs.6 figs
